EDI Billing Format

Every type of electronic billing file to be created must be formatted specifically for the software receiving it. The EDI Billing Format screen gives you the flexibility to create multiple file layouts and use those layouts in the extract / transform process to create the correct output. Specific information will be gathered about the resulting file including type of file, columns, data types, and lengths, and whether fields are required.

General

In the General area, enter EDI bill format information.

Field Description
Code Enter a unique alphanumeric key to identify the document. Once a code has been entered and the document has been submitted to final, it typically cannot be changed.
Name Enter a name to describe the document. The name does not have to be unique.
File Type Select the type of File to be created by the EDI bill extract via the specified transform. Options are CSV or XML.
EDI Extract Select the EDI extract document the initialization process uses to create the EDI billing detail records. The list is limited to only extract documents whose Category is EDIBilling.
EDI Transform Enter or select the Transform to be used. The list is limited to only transform documents whose Category is EDIBilling.
  Default Output path Enter the path the File will be saved to. This file path must be accessible to the service account at time of execution.
  Record Length Limit Enter the length limit for each individual record within the created file. Not available when File Type is XML.
  Include Headings Select if the column headings should be included in the created file. Not available when File Type is XML.
  Field Delimiter If the file has records defined by a delimiter, select the delimiter character. Options are: comma, space, or period. Not available when File Type is XML.
  Status

Select the status of the document.

Record Definition

In the Record Definition area, enter the specific columns to be recorded in the created file. This structure is used for all types of file formats. At least one column must be declared for any type of format.

Field Description
Field Nbr System generated counter used by the extract / transform to put columns in order. Begins at 001 and runs to 100.
Field Header Enter the text which identifies the column being referenced.
